Northridge Students Win Big! Channel 7 interviews While many people are doing whatever it takes to get World Series tickets, two Northridge students were winning tickets to another hot event. Emily Ireland and Riley Nedved, both fifth graders won tickets to the sold out Hannah Montana concert. Riley and Emily won their tickets by writing an essay about their favorite animal in a contest sponsored by ThePetfoodCourier.com. A surprise assembly was organized on Thursday, October 18th where our two winners were presented with certificates, “smart tags”, and two tickets each to the Hannah Montana concert. The president of The Pet Food Courier, Karen Brady, read the two winning entries and emphasized what a great job the contestants did. Over 500 essays were submitted for the contest. For both winners to come from the same school is remarkable. Just as exciting, the judges awarded another 5th grade Northridge student, D. J. Notarmuzi, with an honorable mention. Congratulations to all three winners!
